Let's start by saying , all through my adult life, I have only used shave foam from a can. My father, and uncles the same. Fair Isle Harbor is a soap for the ages. The scent of the soap is an intoxicating warm caramel, tobacco, and sweet sweet honey with some hints of citrus in it. The soap is really slick and lathers really nicely and gives a really protective nice shave. I was also suppplied the 2oz aftershave balm sample and that's a whole different review but in short, paired up with the soap, it gives a great smelling scent throughout the day! This being my first Cooper & French soap, I can see myself buying more of their products in the future and can highly recommend Fair Isle Harbor to anyone.

I am fairly new to wet shaving, and have been slowly adding new products to my shave everyday to see what I like, and what works best. Fair Isle Harbor is a name that has been brought up a lot in forums, and chat rooms, so I decided to pick up a sample. First, I'd like to note that the sample was packed full. There was none of that 'bag-o-chips' air at the top of the container. The scent was great. A hint of floral, which, typically I stay away from, but this scent was fantastic. I found myself re-opening that container several times to give it a sniff. As far as lathering, my package came with a nice 'cheat sheet' on lathering. I decided to use that method as I usually lather a bit different than the instructions said to do. I got a full lather, fairly quickly, and I was able to do it as a face lather. I typically bowl lather. The soap felt smooth, and held its volume throughout my shave. The small amount I loaded was plenty for my two passes, and a clean up. This .5oz sample will last me many shaves! I look forward to buying a full size puck soon.

Any time a shaving soap fragrance, and matching after shave balm, gets an unsolicited "you smell Yummy!" from my wife, I've gotta keep that contender at the top of my line-up! This one has the added bonus of performing at the highest level when it comes to it's rich lather, excellent cushion and glide for the blade, which whips up and loads easily, with plenty to spare after a standard 3 pass shave. I get the hints of warm tobacco, vanilla, sweet caramel, and a light top note that's slightly floral. Nevertheless, all that goodness translates succintly to "yummy" from my wife, and to me that's the most important opinion.

First C&F soap for me, the scent in this soap is a very warm floral scent with a touch of sweetness. Not over powering at all and a very pleasant scent for several occasions. How to Apply - In 4 Easy Steps

Start by wetting your synthetic shave brush with warm water. For badger, boar, or horsehair, make sure you completely soak your brush with warm water for several minutes. Don’t forget to remove any excess water. No one wants to deal with a dripping brush!
Next, swirl your brush in the soap container for a minimum of 20 seconds. That’ll give you a good amount of soap on your brush. You want to achieve a paste-like consistency.
Wet the area on your skin you plan on shaving.
Finally, transfer the soap to your skin by using a gentle, scrubbing motion. Continue until your skin is completely covered in a full lather. Adding small amounts of water to your brush can help increase the coverage.
